Transforming online education
Aiming to transform teacher practice and boost student achievement, the University of Florida Lastinger Center is building cutting-edge online systems.
In conjunction with the UF College of Education’s eLearning, Technology and Communications Department, we are building robust, easy-to-navigate online learning systems. We blend high-quality online content with strong on-the-ground coaching to take teacher professional development to a new level. This powerful hybrid of online learning and face-to-face support provides teachers with the best professional development possible.
In our pursuit of coaching excellence, we have assembled a team of content and e-learning experts, academic and technical reviewers, early learning practitioners, instructional designers, researchers, programmers and graphic artists to enhance the material and the delivery methodology.
We eliminate barriers to pursuing graduate degrees and effective professional development and customize content to meet teacher needs.
The Lastinger Center’s online learning innovations include:
- Algebra Nation. To help teachers and students succeed on the Algebra 1 End-of-Course exam (EOC), the University of Florida and Study Edge have created Algebra Nation – a FREE, online, easy-to-use, EOC preparation resource aligned with the latest state standards. - Early Learning Florida. We have joined forces with Florida’s Agency for Workforce Innovation, Department of Education and Palm Beach State College to build Leaf, a state-of-the-art online professional development system for early childhood educators.
